THE COUNCIL OF THE AGENCY ADOPTED DECISION ON METHOD AND DEADLINES FOR MARKET TEST ON THE INTEREST IN THE USE OF FUTURE INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITY OF THE COMPANY “GASTRANS”

On the session held of February 9, 2018, the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia has adopted a Decision on Method and Deadlines for Market Test on the Interest in the Use of Future Infrastructure Facility of the Company “GASTRANS” LLC, Novi Sad.
On February 2, 2018, GASTRANS LLC submitted an application for the exemption from the third party access rules on the entire natural gas infrastructure facility – new gas pipeline which will go through the Republic of Serbia and connect Bulgarian and Hungarian national transmission system.
This Decision regulates the obligation of GASTRANS LLC to test the market interest in the use of transmission capacity of future gas pipeline the company plans to construct in more detail. In line with the Energy Law (Article 288), prior to the adoption of the exemption act, the Agency will decide on rules and mechanisms for capacity management and allocation which will also include the obligation to offer unallocated capacity in the market, while infrastructure users will be entitled to trade in their contracted capacity in the market.
